By now, you’ve probably seen 5,000 interviews with One Direction‘s resident daddy, Liam Payne, promoting his new track “Strip That Down.”
Of course, most of the questions usually turn personal, like what he thinks about Harry’s new music, if things are amicable with Zayn, is #Larry real, and now, who he would trust to look after his baby boy, Bear Payne.
While speaking to Big Top 40, he answered the question, “Who would be best at babysitting, then, if you’re going to leave [Bear] with one of the lads?”
“Well I suppose Louis, ’cause Louis’ got Freddie,” he began.
“But he’d be the last choice in my head. That’s the funniest thing! But he’s gotta be first ’cause he knows more than any of the rest of them.
“I can’t rely on Harry ’cause I feel like my child would come out dressed in something I wouldn’t understand. And then with Niall, the kid would be putting golf balls on tees. Niall would be pushing the pram while swinging the putter at the same time.
“So I think I’ll just leave him with me.”
He’s clearly just joking, but fans are taking the whole ‘but he’d [Louis] be the last choice in my head’ bit as a clue that Louis isn’t really Freddie’s father…
It’s a stretch, we know.
“Liam… out there… ending bg [baby gate] all by himself…” one fan wrote.
Another commented, “Well, not ending it but questioning his bandmate’s parenting abilities which ajkhsdjkasd I’m sorry this is so hilarious to me.”
“Liam, louis hasn’t seen that child in 4 months move on.”
“This is so awkward. I can’t come up with another adjective. It’s awkward.”
Yikes.
It’s true, Louis hasn’t been spotted with Freddie in a long time, which seems curious since there used to be an abundance of paparazzi shots of the two together.
Some people do believe that there has been a custody battle that has kept Louis from seeing his son, but just last week a member of Briana Jungwirth‘s family shaded Louis online, ‘liking’ a comment calling him out for being a “dead beat father.”
Hopefully, there’s a way less dramatic excuse for why Louis hasn’t been publicly spotted with his son. For all we know he could be spending most days with him… it’s just not shown online.
