Liam Payne has surprised everyone with his solo music, as he’s gone in a total RnB ~direction~.
Right now he has two songs, “Strip That Down” and “Get Low” in the charts, and while talking to Teen Vogue, he admits that “I think, really, my fans weren’t expecting,” his new sound.
“Strip That Down” was “number 1 on Shazam for a while,” he admits. “And that’s the people who are like, ‘Um, who is this guy?’… for a good reason or bad reason. Hoping it was good.
“That’s the most interesting thing to me. I love my fans and I want to carry them on through with me, though some of my music is not for some of them, and they’ll say that as well. But we’re picking up a whole new fanbase, too.”
Honestly, we think his fans are loyal enough to stick with him with whatever he does. Even rap, which he is about to sort of venture into.
He admits that he didn’t realise, “how much I like rapping, but I’m never going to be Eminem. That’s what surprised me the most.”
“It’s singy-rapping,” he says.
Keen? We’ll have to wait ’til October, because that’s when his next single will be dropping.
