Lauren Jauregui has never shied away from speaking her mind, and that’s why we absolutely love her.
But before the star came out to her fans as bisexual, she has revealed that many people warned her against it.
In a new interview with Out magazine, Lauren explained that, “A lot of artists are held back by the notion that they’ll lose their fan base or alienate themselves.”
Lauren came out to the public in a letter she wrote to President Donald Trump in 2016, but even people close to her warned her against it.
“Even friends and family would tell me to keep it to myself,” she admitted. “But the more I thought about it, the more I was like, ‘Why?'”
Coming out has not lost her any fans. In fact, she is even more loved and supported now that she was able to be open and honest with them, but she still gets some criticism.
“People still talk sh*t. But it’s like, ‘Why does it make you feel gross? You can’t watch me kiss my girlfriend? Go f- yourself.'”
