Although the sleepy town of Riverdale is totally fiction, with its copious amount of fog and epic greenery… it is filmed in a real place: Vancouver, Canada.
However the biggest star of the show, KJ Apa who plays Archie, isn’t too keen on the place.
When he was recently asked on Live With Kelly and Ryan about living in the city for filming, his response has upset a lot of locals, and Canadians in general.
“The food’s really good,” KJ answered. “The only thing is when you’re there for a long time, it can get kind of boring. The city’s not the biggest city in the world and everything shuts kind of early as well.”
Some comments on the video read: “If you think Vancouver is boring, then stop shooting there and taking our tax money.”
Ooft.
Another person wrote, “KJ WHYYY would you think Vancouver is boring??? It’s a pretty dang big city.”
The news network CTV Vancouver also tweeted, “Do you think Riverdale star KJ apa has a point about Vancouver?”
But that really egged on fans.
One person responded, “I’ve never watched his show because it’s boring. I guess we’re all entitled to our opinions!”
Another replied shadily, “Who?”
Some people kind of agreed… “You are 100% correct @kj_apa Vancouver is boring but great food.
KJ Apa has yet to respond to the backlash.
