Katy Perry has been called out for cultural appropriation, like, a zillion times. So when she was announced to be the host of the 2017 MTV VMAs, people expected some offensive comments to come.
And they did.
People were offended at basically everything she said (so much so that she may be losing her American Idol job), but the worst was when she “snatched her wig”.
It happened after Pink did her incredible speech about her daughter… Katy responded with, “I am shooketh. I am dead, I am living, I am crying — she’s iconic. Wig, snatched!”
Yikes.
