It’s no secret that Katy Perry‘s religious parents have struggled with her stardom and in a new interview, the “Roar” singer is ~finally~ saying sorry for stressing them out.
During a segment on American Idol, Katy and her fellow judges all agreed that their ‘rents were their very first fans, Us Weekly confirms.
“Yeah! Mom and dad,” Perry said, adding: “Oh, my God. We put our parents — I’m only speaking for me, from my experience — I put my parents through hell and back and back!”
While the show was airing, Katy shared throwback snaps on Instagram of herself as a baby with mum Mary.
“Are you watching this Mother’s Day themed #AmericanIdol? I hope you’re tuning in and snuggling with your mama! ❤️👩👧#happymothersday#happymothersday,” she captioned a sweet snap.
