Let’s be real, if Nicki Minaj publicly flirted with us, we’d low-key die.
So when John Mayer totally lost his chill over Nicki flirting with him on Twitter, the complete internet meltdown was expected.
Last week, John wondered aloud on Twitter if Nicki would ever be interested in him. A week later and Nicki tweets the following:
“Would my body be your wonderland?” she wrote, in which he replied, “Please hold, losing my sh*t. This isn’t my reply yet.”
But however much you’d ship this couple, some people were wondering about a particular racist comment John once made in a 2010 interview with Playboy, and boy did Twitter pull out the #receipts.
Another fan put the quote in context. It came when the interviewer asked John, “Do black women throw themselves at you?” to which he responded, “I don’t think I open myself to it. My d*** is sort of like a white supremacist.”
Um, what?
It obviously didn’t sit well with people back then and now that he is so publicly declaring his crush for Nicki, it has annoyed fans even more.
Neither John or Nicki have yet to make any more comments.
