Last week we were greeted with the very sad news that Netflix had cancelled Ian Somerhalder’s new show V Wars.

While there has been a bunch of show cancellations and delays because of the Coronavirus pandemic, we were heartbroken to hear about this one.
But now, Ian has sat down with his fans in an Instagram video to express that there will be more V Wars, and that Dr. Swann has not finished just yet.
While he acknowledged that there are much more pressing issues to talk about during this time, he felt it was important to spread the word that his new show wasn’t cancelled – an announcement we welcomed with open arms.
“VWars news Streaming from my Airstream,” Ian captioned the video below. “In these strange and dark times that we find ourselves navigating, I just want to say thank you. Here’s an update on VWars from my silver bullet think pod.”
“VWars is NOT DONE,” he continued. “There is life for Dr. Swann and this incredible story. Please SHARE this and spread the word, not the VIRUS. This was supposed to send last night but I think my internet went out…”
The Vampire Diaries actor spoke to us in December 2019 about V Wars, and how excited he was for it to premiere.
“I feel SO lucky to have played the character Damon Salvatore for 8 years. I think he was literally one of the best-written roles in television ever. It was a blast. He was snarky, he was sexy, he was funny, he was dynamic. He was also at times, a huge prick. But people still loved him. But coming off that, when I found Luther Swann… while he might not be a vampire he still is a superhero to me.
“But his superpowers is that he is a great dad, a great scientist, and a great husband. He’s a good, normal f***ing dude. And then he is thrown into this situation that literally rips his world and everyone else world around him apart.”
