How to help those affected by Hurricane Dorian in the Bahamas

13,000 homes have been severely damaged.

On Sunday night and Monday morning, Hurricane Dorian hit the northwestern Bahamas, specifically the Abacos Islands and Grand Bahamas.

According to Refinery29, the category 5 hurricane is the strongest storm this year as well as being the strongest storm ever to hit the Bahamas. 

The immense winds have had a devastating impact, with 5 people confirmed dead and 13,000 homes destroyed. The number of casualties is yet to be confirmed.

Over the past 24 hours, images have begun emerging showing the true extent to the devastation, with some photos revealing homes have been completely submerged underwater while others have been reduced to rubble.

Hurricane Dorian is now the most damaging hurricane to ever hit the Bahamas, and the nation is currently grappling with the devastating aftermath, luckily for those people who want to offer their support they can do so in many different ways.
