Hilary Duff slammed Disney last week after she caught on to the fact that one of their shows Love, Simon was moved from Disney+ to Hulu because of it’s ‘themes’.

Those themes being the fact that it centred around an LGBTQ+ teenage boy navigating through high school.
It came after it was revealed that The Lizzie McGuire reboot was halted – possibly because of similar reasons.
In January, The Lizzie McGuire reboot was also shutting down production because show creator Terri Minsky left.
Now Hilary has started a #FreeLizzieMcGuire hashtag because she doesn’t want to be inauthentic with the reboot!
“Was incredibly excited to launch ‘Lizzie’ on D+ and my passion remains!” Hilary began on Instagram.
“However, I feel a huge responsibility to honor the fans’ relationship with LIZZIE who, like me, grew up seeing themselves in her.
“I’d be doing a disservice to everyone by limiting the realities of a 30-year-old’s journey to live under the ceiling of a PG rating.
“It’s important to me that just as her experiences as a preteen/teenager navigating life were authentic, her next chapters are equally as real and relatable.
“It would be a dream if Disney would let us move the show to Hulu, if they were interested, and I could bring this beloved character to live again.”
Hilary signed off with a red love heart emoji.
Fans started commenting with a #FreeLizzieMcGuire hashtag, something we can ALL get behind.
Who cares which streaming service the reboot is on? We just want to watch it!
