You know you’ve made it when you’re on the The Ellen DeGeneres Show and we knew it was only a matter of time before Dylan Minnette and Katherine Langford popped up on her couch.
The 13 Reasons Why stars sat down with Ellen DeGeneres to talk everything about Netflix’s most-talked show, including how they’re dealing with the intense overnight fame.
Katherine revealed it was when Lady Gaga tweeted about her that she had her “aha!” moment of realising how big the show was getting.
“Well, I feel like there was definitely a really big moment for me a week ago,” she explained. “I don’t have Twitter, but Lady Gaga tweeted at me, like reposted an interview where I was fangirling and wrote, ‘Katherine’ with a love heart. And I kind of freaked out a little bit.”
As for Dylan, it hit him during his recent trip Coachella.
“Well, for me, I go to Coachella every year. Then I went last weekend, and it kind of put into perspective just how many people are actually watching the show,” he said. “At one point, I was walking in front of the crowd and I heard some people whispering like ‘Will there be a season 2?'”
He also talked about how he got freaked out when he turned around to wave at someone who said “Clay” and an ENTIRE screaming crowd bombarded him. “I felt scared, so I like ran away,” Dylan said. “No one screamed at me before. At least not for good reasons,” he joked. Fair enough boo.
