You may think that Kylie Jenner started the whole cosmetic surgery trend… but it wasn’t. Heidi Montag was definitely the OG, after appearing on The Hills, she underwent multiple surgeries which altered her look.
However, in a new interview with Paper Magazine, she has revealed that she literally died during on of those surgeries. Her heart briefly stopped beating for an entire minute.
“I had to have 24-hour nurse care and Spencer didn’t want to leave my side,” Heidi explained, saying that she also had to take Demerol, which is one of the strongest opioids available (the same drug that killed Michael Jackson). “Spencer thought he lost me.”
Heidi has always been open about her surgeries, even talking to her mum on the show once about how much she loved her new face.
However, she can now admit that all of those surgeries left a horrible impact on her life.
“I became consumed by this character I was playing,” she explained. “I lost myself.”
Heidi is doing incredibly well these days, somehow… she and Spencer are still together, which we’re both equally baffled and obsessed with. She is a mum, and forever an icon.
