Since Mac Miller’s death earlier this year, fans have been doing their best to keep his memory alive.
However, the majority of his fandom is absolutely furious with the Grammy Awards, after nominating him for a posthumous award in the “Best Rap Album” category for his album Swimming.
“Seeing @MacMiller get a Grammy nomination absolutely breaks my heart. He would have been freaking out rn, he deserved this years and years ago,” one fan tweeted.
In an interview with MTV, Malcolm once revealed that his dream was to receive a Grammy Award nomination, so it’s bittersweet that he had to be dead to receive one.
Malcolm McCormick was found dead on the 7th of September in his San Fernando Valley home at around midday. According to the toxicology report, he had accidentally overdosed on fentanyl, cocaine and alcohol.
