Ed Sheeran and Taylor Swift are absolute BFFs, and have been for many years. But has something more gone on between them?
Well, after Taylor dropped her new album Reputation, some fans seem to think so.
Especially when it comes to the most risqué song on her album, “Dress”.
There’s a line in the song that says, “I don’t want you like a best friend,” which was the first clue fans picked up on, however J-14 noticed something else… the line that says, “There is an indentation/ In the shape of you / Made your mark on me, a golden tattoo.”
Is that a clear reference to his hit song “Shape Of You”? AND, we all know that Ed has a tattoo in honour of Taylor.
Now, Ed has adressed the rumours while talking to a Singapore magazine, August Man.
“I don’t think it is [about me]. I think if you read into it… it’s not… you know, because she mentions someone with a buzzcut haircut, and I’ve never had a buzzcut haircut.”
Okay, good point. And really, Taylor has admitted to many of the songs being about her current boyfriend Joe Alwyn.
It’s not the first time Ed has had to address rumours about him and Taylor though. back in March, he revealed to Rolling Stone, “I found that aspect quite lazy journalism. There wasn’t any truth to it whatsoever.”
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
