The musical landscape wouldn’t be the same without bae Ed Sheeran‘s sweet, sweet tunes, right?
Well soz to break this to the Sheerantors but Ed himself has revealed that he won’t be gracing us with his voice forever.
Yep, apparently there will come a day when he puts down his guitar and steps away from the music scene for good.
Speaking to Daily Star, the newly engaged singer admitted that he’ll be giving up his career when he starts a fam.
“My ambition is going to go to zero as soon as I have kids,” he shared. “I am going to be like, ‘I do not really care anymore as I have another life to take care of.'”
Sheeran became engaged to longtime friend and high school crush Cherry Seaborn just before the New Year.
He added: “It is totally understandable because you have children and your ambition shifts to be like, ‘I want to be a good father,'” he continued.
He also revealed that he’s already achieved everything that he set out to do with his music.
“To be honest my ambition is dwindling a little bit because I have achieved far more than I thought I ever would,” Ed shared.
“I do not know what to do next. I feel like when you play a stadium you cannot play any bigger than that because what do you do? Sell 15 million albums? What do you do on your next album?”
We are legit so devo to hear this news but at the end of the day, Ed’s happiness is our number one concern!
