Ed Sheeran is so happy about the release of his latest hit ‘Galway Girl’ that he got a tattoo in its honour, but unfortunately it didn’t go according to plan… like, at all.
Turns out his friend and actress Saoirse Ronan—who appears in the music video for the song—royally screwed it up when she misspelled the word ‘girl’ as ‘grill.’ Whoops!
Ed spoke about the tattoo fail for the first time at a gig in Glasgow on Sunday, saying: “When we were filming it I meant to get a tattoo of her handwriting saying Galway Girl from her point of view.”
“It actually says Galway Grill. G-R-I-L-L. She really took the p**s out of me – full on. I haven’t actually told anyone that yet.”
Luckily though, it sounds like he’s not even mad about it. “I’m actually quite proud of her. It’s the kind of thing I would do,” he added.
Plus, he’s got more than 60 other tatts anyway so who’s gonna notice, right? But hopefully he shows off the hilarious ink fail soon, we’re kinda curious now.
