Ed Sheeran Deletes Twitter After Copping Backlash For His ‘Game Of Thrones’ Cameo

People bullied Ed and it's not okay!

After threatening to leave social media last month, Ed Sheeran has officially deleted his Twitter account.

The “Shape Of You” singer literally disappeared in the night without a word, but he recently told The Sun that he has “actually come off Twitter completely. I can’t read it.”

“I go on and there’s nothing but people saying mean things. Twitter’s a platform for that. One comment ruins your day. But that’s why I’ve come off it.

“The headf*** for me has been trying to work out why people dislike me so much.”

After the internet freaked out at the prospect of an Ed Sheeran-free social media, Ed clarified the claim via Instagram, writing: “Loads of Hoo-har about me quitting stuff. I haven’t quit anything, I’m just not reading anything, except Harry Potter. Hope everyone had a wonderful July 4th yo.”

So why has he suddenly scrapped his Twitter?

Well, following his cameo on Game of Thrones where he sings by a campfire and offers food to Arya Stark, Ed received loads of hate online for… actually we don’t know why people were giving him hate?

Loads of awful tweets started flooding the internet that obvs took a toll on poor Ed (who by the way, SMASHED his GoT cameo, TBH).
