If you have, then you’ll know that contestant Mark Cuevas was completely devoted to his controversial fiance Jessica Batten. So, it may come as a surprise that there were rumours he had a girlfriend the entire time!
The reality star was on the ‘Be There in Five’ podcast and addressed the issue.
“I did not have a girlfriend the whole time,” he said. “I was single before [going on the show]. Now, being a single man, you’re single, you’re doing your thing. I’d never had a girlfriend before.”
“Where was the time to be in a relationship during the experience?” he added.
Mark fell for Jessica in the pods during the first part of the experiment. popping the question to her to which she replied with an eager ‘Yes!’
Unfortunately, Jessica couldn’t get past their big age gap, and left Mark at the alter.]
It was HEARTBREAKING.
Mark was heavily invested in his relationship with Jessica, and believes that viewers got confused about his relationship status because the show was actually filmed two years ago.
“I never had a girlfriend during — I had a girlfriend after the experience. I will say that,” he said. “This is way after the experience, a couple months. I was still figuring out what the hell happened, and then I jumped into a relationship, you do that.”
However, Mark admitted that he is now single.
“We ended up breaking up before the show came out,” he said of his post-show relationship. “No hard feelings, it just didn’t work out.”
Someone, please marry Mark! It’s what he deserves.
