It’s been two months since Demi Lovato checked herself into rehab following the scary drug overdose in July.
While she has been spotted out in public once since then, all we have heard is a small update from her mother Dianna De La Garza in September.
Now, her little sister Madison De La Garza has spoken to Millennial Hollywood about Demi’s recovery and how she is doing.
“Demi’s doing… she’s doing really well,” the 16-year-old admitted. “She’s working really hard on her sobriety and we’re all so incredibly proud of her.”
“It’s been crazy for our family,” she added. “It’s been a lot. Umm, but we’ve been through a lot together and every single time, I mean, if you read my mom’s book, you would know. Every time we go through something, we always come out on the other side a hundred times stronger than before. And so we’ve just been, umm, we’ve been so thankful for everything. For the little things.”
It’s not the first time Madison has spoken out about her sister’s health. In August, she posted a lengthy message to Demi for her birthday.
“today could have been one of the worst days of my life, but instead i get to spend it thanking God, the incredible doctors, demi’s team, and everyone across the world who offered their support – without all of these people i wouldn’t have my big sister anymore. i’ve been thinking about how i wish that everyone could see the silly little things that she does, like how her nostrils move when she says certain words and when she brushes my hair behind my ear when i’m trying to sleep, because those are the things i’m thankful for today. they seem so small, but those little things make up my sister – not a singer, not a celebrity, and definitely not what she’s been described as in the media – she’s a daughter, a friend, and my big sister… and i am so, so thankful that i can tell her happy birthday. #happybirthdaydemi ❤️”
