"You're worth it."

Demi Lovato has dealt with a lot over the past year. Relapsing last July, Demi overdosed – which was nearly fatal – breaking her sobriety and landing her back in rehab.

Since then, Demi has opened up about her journey to sobriety on Instagram.

Last week, she wrote herself a note which was absolutely beautiful.

“You’re beautiful. You’re loved. And you’re worthy of a happy and healthy life,” it read.

On Friday, it would have marked Demi’s seven-year sobriety. A huge milestone for anyone.

However, Demi didn’t let it bring her down, or take away from everything she has achieved.

“Today I would’ve had 7 years sober,” she wrote on Instagram. “I don’t regret going out because I needed to make those mistakes but I must never forget that’s exactly what they were: mistakes.”

“Grateful that AA/NA never shuts the door on you no matter how many times you have to start your time over. I didn’t lose 6 years, I’ll always have that experience but now I just get to add to that time with new journey and time count.”

“If you’ve relapsed and are afraid to get help again, just know it’s possible to take that step towards recovery. If you’re alive today, you can make it back. You’re worth it.”
