In Demi Lovato‘s upcoming YouTube-exclusive documentary, Demi Lovato: Simply Complicated, the star opens up about all the secrets of her past from her drug abuse to her stint in rehab to her split from ex-fiancè Wilmer Valderrama.

And while Demi has previously been very vocal about her struggles, there are certain aspects of her addiction period that she hasn’t filled us in on…

… until now!

In the trailer for the doco, Demi admits that she “was not easy to work with.”

A particularly intriguing piece of information was what went down during her 2010 tour with Nick Jonas where Dems ~mysteriously~ pulled out midway through the tour.

People reports that the then 18-year-old Demi had “gotten in trouble” for her behaviour the night before.

When the tour managers questioned her about what explicit things she was doing that night, Demi became enraged as she assumed that one of the backup dancers had reported her.

Right after this conversation, said backup dancer Alex Welch recalled that Lovato “pulled the dancers in a room and threatened: ‘If I find out who told on me …’ ”

Welch maintained that she wasn’t worried as she hadn’t witnessed what happened the night before.

“I felt, honestly, I didn’t say anything and didn’t think twice about it,” she said.

She adds: “We were on the plane with the Jonas’ having this awesome time and I didn’t get a call or text from Demi or a ‘hey, you got a problem with me,’ nothing. And she walks up and punches me and literally walked away and got in her seat.”

“No one should walk up and do that and brush it over, it’s not right.”

The punch was so intense that it resulted in a black eye.

Following this incident, Demi quit the tour and checked in to rehab where she sought treatment for depression, self-harm, drug addiction and an eating disorder.

Years later, Demi has fully recovered from her previous issues and even went on tour with Nick Jonas again for the Future Now Tour in 2016.
