The world was SO supportive of Teen Wolf actor Colton Haynes when he came out as gay over a year ago… but it looks like his industry isn’t as accepting as his fans.
One’s personal life shouldn’t determine their career, but unfortunately for Colton, homophobia is still such a huge problem in the world, and Hollywood.
Colton took to Twitter last night to call out these issues, and we’re 5,000% backing him.
“Hollywood is so f-ked up,” he wrote. “So much of the focus is on your personal life & has nothing to do with the talent you have to bring to the table,” he wrote.
He did then give a particular shout-out to people like Ryan Murphy, Greg Berlanti and Jeff Davis for embracing his talent.
“Thank god for Ryan Murphy, Greg Berlanti, & Jeff Davis. They believe gay actors are more than just their personal lives.
“So disappointed in how Hollywood cant understand that playing a character has nothing to do with how u live your personal life.”
Here here babes.
It was also just announced that Colton will be returning to his role as Jackson on Teen Wolf as a gay character, which we couldn’t be more proud of.
