Netflix series 13 Reasons Why was a powerful reminder of the consequences of bullying and hopefully the show encouraged bullies to start treating people nicer.
For actor Christian Navarro (who played Tony in the show), the intensity of the show inspired him to confess that he was actually a bully in high school.
“I learned pretty quickly that if you bully, you don’t get bullied, so I was a bully in middle school,” he told Popsugar.

He went on to admit that he had to “cut all that [bullying] nonsense out.” He added, “[When you’re a bully], people don’t like you. We all want to belong to a community, so I figured the best way to do that was to stop being a jerk.”
His advice?
Basically, treat people how you’d wanna be treated!
“Be nice, start listening to people, be empathetic. It’s worked out for me.”
That’s some sage advice there, Christian!
