Last week, we reported that singer Demi Lovato and her fiancé Max Ehrich broke up, just two months after the pair announced their engagement. The split came after friends and family said they were “worried” and “hesitant” about Demi’s new boo, and old tweets emerged of Max simping for Lovato’s infamous “not-friend” Selena Gomez. And now, Ehrich is apparently lying about how he learned about his own breakup… good lawd, this boy.
Overnight on his Instagram Story, Max shared a series of weird bible quotes and claimed that he had no idea that his fiancé Demi Lovato and he had split until he read the tabloids. Sure, Jan.
“I was on the set of my new movie, Southern Gospel, with crew and cast members right next to me who literally watched me open my phone where I then opened a tabloid,” he wrote in a notes app screenshot on his IG Stories, amidst bible quotes about forgiveness.
“This is the God’s honest truth of how I found out about the ending of the engagement and have people from my film who saw the whole thing go down and helped me get back into character to continue my job. I have cast and crew with families relying on me to do my job.”
“That being said, please end this narrative and focus on other more important issues in the world,” he continued. “I love and forgive everyone involved. Let us be. Let us heal. God bless.”
Then, the infamous former boyfriend of Demi shared a screenshot of one text in what looks like a text chain of messages. “To find out over the internet was beyond anything I could’ve ever imagined a person could do to another human,” it read. “Leave me alone,” he tagged it. It’s unclear whether this was sent to Demi or someone else.
But, despite the actor’s claims that he was kept in the dark, sources close to Demi Lovato told E! News that “he is lying.”
“Demi did tell him beforehand,” the insider shared, adding that Max is “just trying to stay relevant. Her family thinks he is crazy and is so relieved she has taken this step.”
A separate source echoed the above’s comments, previously telling the outlet, “they were arguing a lot. There has been a lot of tension and Demi left him to get a clear head.”
“She didn’t know who Max truly was and didn’t think he had good intentions,” the insider expressed. “There were many red flags she was ignoring and trying to turn a blind eye to.”
Since the break up, Demi has removed all photos of Max on her Instagram, spending her night moving on and hanging out with friends watching TV. She has yet to publicly acknowledge Max’s claims.
