They were married for seven years before Kimye officially parted ways. But while the concept of divorce is not foreign by any means, their relationship timeline has been anything but ordinary.

From their first meeting, lush Italian wedding, parenthood journey, eventual divorce, and the introduction of… Pete Davidson?? (The writers of life are getting too comfortable), we’ve broken down Kimye’s complete relationship timeline.
When did Kim Kardashian and Kanye West meet?
2002-2003
According to Kim, the pair met around 2002-2003.
“He was recording a song with Brandy, and I was her friend,” Kim told Ryan Seacrest during the Keeping Up With the Kardashians 10th anniversary special.
“I vividly remember hanging out with him and then they did a video together, so I’d see him a few times. He was asking his friends: ‘Who is this Kim Kardajan?’ He didn’t know what my name was.”
2010
Kanye was spotted at Kim’s 30th birthday bash in New York, according to Just Jared.
It was later revealed that Kanye’s song Lost In The World was inspired by the rapper’s birthday card to Kim.
“For those that don’t know the story of ‘Lost In The World’ on My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy…Kanye couldn’t come up with some lyrics and then realized he had them, it was what he wrote me for my 30th birthday card,” the 40-year-old revealed on her Instagram story.

2011
A year later, the reality TV star delved into the world of music, releasing a song titled, Jam (Turn it up)… Paul McCartney, take notes x.
So how does Kanye fit into this? Well, he reportedly helped direct the tune’s music video. And thus, their professional relationship began.
2012
Romantic Kimye became official in June of this year. Kim confirmed she and Kanye were dating via a tweet about his song with Jay Z, No Church in the Wild.
“#NoChurchInTheWild… Proud girlfriend tweet,” the reality star wrote.
Later this year, Kanye was performing in New Jersey when he told the audience that he and Kim were expecting a baby together.
The musician implored the crowd to “make some noise for my baby mama right there”. He then serenaded Kim and said, “now you having my baby”.
So, a super lowkey announcement.
2013
Kimye’s first child, North-West, was born on June 15th. She arrived a month after the couple made their iconic Met Gala debut.
Four months later, Kanye proposed to Kim in a baseball park (Oracle) in San Francisco. Not only did the musician rent out the whole thing (must be nice), he splurged on a 13-carat ring, a 50-piece orchestra and a message on the scoreboard that read: “PLEEEASE MARRY MEEE!!!”.
Again, super lowkey on his behalf.
2014
Kimye tied the knot in Florence, Italy, on May 24th, officially making the reality star… Kim Kardashian-West.
2015
North gets a sibling! News that Kimye was welcoming their second child was revealed via an episode of KUWTK. The couple welcomed their first son, Saint, on December 5th.
2018
Three years later, Kimye’s second daughter, Chicago, was born via gestational carrier on January 15th.
2019
Annnnd one more. Kimye welcomed a son, Psalm, also via gestational carrier, on May 9th.
Five months later, the couple decided to renew their vows.
2020
Ahh yes, let’s not forget Kanye 2020 happened. The musician deciding to run for President honestly feels like a fever dream at this point… but it actually happened.
Spoiler Alert! 🚨He lost.
During his first rally in South Carolina, the singer caused quite the stir when he revealed that he and Kim almost decided to abort their first daughter, North.
The next day, Kanye tweeted that his wife and her mum Kris were attempting to “lock (him) up” with a doctor.
“Kim was trying to fly to Wyoming with a doctor to lock me up like on the movie Get Out because I cried about saving my daughters life yesterday.”
2021
The year started off badly with US Weekly claiming in January that Kim was “done” with her marriage to Kanye.
“They have both been living separate lives for many months now,” a source told the publication. “Kim and Kanye haven’t been on the same page for a while now.”
Reportedly, Kim officially filed for divorce in February.
Six months later the exes sparked reconciliation rumours after Kim appeared at Kanye’s listening party in Chicago.
After dropping his latest album Donda, Kim rocked up to the party donning a Balenciaga wedding gown and veil to recreate their wedding.
“Kim supports Kanye and was happy to be on stage in a wedding dress,” a source told Us about the reality star’s appearance. “She has always respected his art and ideas and was all in for the performance.”
Just when it seemed as though things were amicable between the pair, Kanye decided to declare his desire to romantically reconcile with Kim.
During a visit to Skid Row in November 2021, the rapper told the crowd he wants to “change the narrative” when it comes to Kimye.
“The narrative that God wants is for you to see that everything can be redeemed,” he said, according to Page Six. “In all these relationships, we’ve made mistakes. I’ve made mistakes. I’ve publicly done things that were not acceptable as a husband. But right now today, for whatever reason — I didn’t know I was going to be standing right here.
He continued: “If the enemy can separate Kimye, there’s going to be millions of families that feel like that separation is OK …. (But) when God —who has already won and is so — brings Kimye together, there’s gonna be millions of families that are going to be influenced and see they can overcome the work of the separation, of trauma the devil has used to capitalize to keep people in misery while people step over homeless people to go to the Gucci store.”
From there, things got even more confusing (if that’s possible) when reports arose that Kanye was dating actress Julia Fox.
2022
Despite his reported new romance, it seems as though Kanye may be harbouring some um… selective feelings for Kim’s alleged new man, Pete Davidson, who she was first linked with around Halloween 2021.
In a teaser for his new song, My Life Was Never Easy, the musician rapped – with a disinterest for subtlety – “God saved from that crash/ just so I can beat Pete Davidson’s a*se,” according to NY Post, referring to the near-fatal crash he experienced in 2002.
The song, which drops on Friday, is in collaboration with rapper The Game. And it wouldn’t be the first time Pete is mentioned in a discography, with his ex-fiancée Ariana Grande literally naming one of her songs after him.
Though, hers was much more flattering than Ye’s version.
We guess we’ll have to see what transpires from here.
