Game of Thrones star Richard Madden is already a Golden Globe winner, but he can now add an honorary doctorate to his list of awards.
The 33-year-old actor picked up his honorary doctorate at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland – where he graduated in 2007, with his family and ‘rumoured boyfriend’ Brandon Flynn cheering him on!

The actor turned up to his ceremony dressed in a graduation gown and sunglasses.

We’re so proud of him!
According to the Daily Record, Richard spoke at the ceremony, saying: “The Conservatoire gave me the confidence to call myself an actor. It gave me a place to study my craft and go out in the word to be what I want to be.”
He added that he continued to consider himself an actor in training and joked: “Except now you have to call me doctor.”
Richard missed his actual graduation which he referenced in his speech. He explains he was “fortunate enough to be working” adding: “So it feels particularly special to be here today – it feels like I’m finally graduating, albeit 12 years late.”

He continued: “That’s why coming back here now is such an honour for me, this journey started, it led me to being here today and it started back here and I’ll be forever thankful and grateful and proud that I studied here.
“I’m even more proud and humbled that this place that gave me so much continues to support me and I’m truly honoured to receive this accolade today.”
Last month, Brandon Flynn addressed the rumours that he and Richard are ‘dating’.
Speaking to the New York Times Brandon shared that he likes to keep his “personal life personal.”
However, in a recent with Variety, he neither confirmed or denied it. The 25-year-old actor said, “It’s all just something to egg on some sort of rumour cycle that will just keep going around until you finally get something that will actually just make it all true or false. So, it’s hard not to feel scandalised.”
