FYI internet peeps, Bella Thorne is not here for your body shaming and she wants you all to know it.
The Famous In Love actress has taken a stand against ~controversial~ blogger Perez Hilton after he posted a, erm, let’s just say a compromising pic of her to Instagram.
“Fill in the blank! @BellaThorne __________.”
Hilton’s post opened up Bella to a heap of body shaming with IG users posting some not-so-nice comments on the pic including:
“Her boob is decomposing,” wrote one follower.
“That’s a total zombie boob. Looks so weird,” wrote another.
Bella’s fans soon stepped in to defend her with comments like:
“It’s really sad that Perez Hilton has nothing better to do than encourage bullying. Celebrity or not, it’s never OK to put someone down.”
And: “The fact that this picture is still up is absolutely disgusting.”
After media outlets started picking up on the hate, Perez shared an article with the headline “Bella Thorne fans FURIOUS with Perez Hilton” and wrote “They are???”
Perez later responded to an angry tweet by a Bella fan who wrote:
“Remember when @ThePerezHilton pledged to be kinder? But he’s still out here trying to pass his body shaming and insults as “opinions” #fake.”
“Body shaming????” He replied.
“You posted a picture of @bellathorne with a fill in the blank because you knew people would body and slut shame her. Same thing,” the fan added.
Perez sassily replied: “I disagree. xoxo”
That’s when Bella had to step in and defend her honour.
“Honestly I don’t. You know I love you p but I think it’s kinda rude to use the pic my shirt is riding up and I’m in the middle of talking,” she tweeted.
Prepare to eye roll at his age old, misogynistic ‘she was asking for it’ response.
“It seemed to me like you wanted people to talk about you by wearing that outfit. I thought you’d be happy. Sorry.”
Bella clapped back, tweeting: “And then you tag charlie and like other guys on my body trying to start drama and trying to make me feel disgusting..like they own my body.”
Perez responded with: “That was just so the photo would come up in more searches. Didn’t occur to me you would interpret it that way. Sorry again.”
A Bella fan did not care for his apology, however, and wrote:
“You’re not sorry monkey looking a**.”
But Perez insisted that he was genuine in his apology to Bellzy.
“Honey, I don’t say s**t I don’t mean,” he wrote.
Another Bella fan wrote: “My favorite form of non-apology is “i’m sorry YOU were offended” rather than “i’m sorry that i did something offensive”. d**k.”
Rather than take these complaints seriously and actually apologise ~properly~, Perez added fuel to the garbage fire by tweeting:
“I’d do it again, tbh x”.
“Dude, don’t you feel bad in the slightest to be posting pictures of a 19-year-old girl who you know will get attacked just to get attention?” Another fan wrote.
“No.” He responded.
Bella jumped back in at that point, writing:
“YOU WOULD DO IT AGAIN!? R u serious? Yeah you would like posting a photo of Ariel in a bikini to get views on a podcast?”
She was referring to a podcast that is the current pinned tweet on Hilton’s Twitter page that features a pic of Ariel Winter in a bikini.
Perez stood by his choice to use the ~steamy~ Ariel pic to promote his podcast.
“Yeah. I did that today. @arielwinter1 looked AMAZING!!” he tweeted.
“I hope no one does this to your daughter,” Bella wrote, referring to Perez’s 2-year-old daughter Mia who was born on May 9, 2015 via surrogate.
“Does what exactly? Post a photo she thins is unflattering? I would think it wouldn’t bother her.” Perez responded.
Yet another fan chimed in, writing: “If she thinks its unflattering then that means she would be upset by it since it means she thinks it makes her look bad.”
“No. I don’t get upset by unflattering photos of me. x” Perez wrote back.
Bella Thorne basically tapped out at that point as Perez continued to argue back and forth with Bellzy’s fans.
Yikes! What a drama.
Something tells us this isn’t the last we’ll hear about this.
