Due to Ariana Grande‘s bravery and kindness following the horrific attack on her concert, Manchester City Council announced that they plan to make the pint-sized pop star an honorary citizen.
The leader of Manchester city council, Sir Richard Leese, confirmed the exciting news in a statement.
“I think many people would already consider her an honorary Mancunian and we would be delighted, if the council approves the proposal, to make it official,” he said.

Now, Ari has responded to the honour with an emotional Insta post.
“I don’t know what to say. Words don’t suffice. I’m moved and honoured. My heart is very much still there. I love you. Thank you. 🐝” She wrote.
The Guardian reports that “honorary citizenship” is pretty much the highest honour that a city can give to someone, so props to Ari!
