Last year, homeless man Chris Parker gained global attention when he allegedly helped comfort the victims of the attack on Ariana Grande‘s Manchester show.

It was later discovered via CCTV footage that the alleged hero had actually stolen a purse, a phone and a debit card from the victims.

Months later, the 33-year-old man has finally received his sentencing for the incident.

Parker will spend four years and three months behind bars for what the judge described as a “reprehensible” crime.

“You were not the hero you pretended to be, you were just a common thief,” Hernandez said.

He will also have to pay back the $87,115 that he received from the public.
