Yesterday’s VMAs were full of dramatic moments (like 5H pushing a fake Camila off the stage), but one thing we didn’t expect to blow up online was Ed Sheeran winning “Artist of the Year.”

It’s a new award, created by MTV getting rid of gendered categories.
Ed went up against Bruno Mars, Lorde, Kendrick Lamar and Ariana Grande.

Fans were upset that the award didn’t go to Ariana. Why? Because of everything she has had to deal with over the past year with her Dangerous Woman tour being attacked in Manchester.
Ari handled herself extremely well after the attack, especially by running the benefit concert to raise money for the families affected… and fans made sure Ed knew they were annoyed on Twitter.
Ariana literally brought the world together in a time of need. She is artist of the year and deserved that award. No doubt #VMAs
