Netflix may be the largest streaming giant in the world, but they've recently come under very hot water for their ethics.
The company is being criticised for how much they pay their writers.
The Writer’s Guild of America is reportedly in a dispute with Netflix over how much its union members were paid in 2018.
Deadline has reported that the WGA claims that the writers are entitled to more money for 33 of Netflix’s original movies.
It comes down to the fact that Netflix movies are also being released in cinemas at the same time, to "qualify for awards contention."
Basically, there is concern that Netflix is ripping off the content writers.
Netflix has marked a huge change in the movie industry, so it's all a learning curve especially on payments. We just hope it figures itself out because there's nothing better than a Netflix original!
