This New 'Moana' And 'Little Mermaid' Theory Will Blow Ya Damn Mind
We here at Girlfriend love a good fan theory, especially when it's about Disney classics.
The most recent movies everyone has decided to pick apart, is Moana and The Little Mermaid.
Because somehow, they've found a connection between the two.
Tumblr user intergalactic-ashkenazi noticed that Moana’s plotline is very similar to that ofThe Little Mermaid, however, it's in reverse.
It may sound shocking, but they have some great points.
Some of its most notable observations are the fact that Little Mermaid's main villain Ursula has a “necklace of magical importance,” while Moana has her own magical necklace.
Sebastian the crab is also Ariel’s BFF, and in Moana, the crab is a bad guy.
Moana isn't technically a princess, but she wants to go to the ocean while Ariel just wants to live on the land.
SO many opposites.
