The Duchess of Sussex joined the Queen in Cheshire for an official visit, sans Prince Harry. In order to get there, she and the queen had to spend 285 kms traveling together, overnight, by train, proving that their pair have already formed a close bond.
According to royal protocol, Megan must address her grandmother-in-law as "your Majesty" upon meeting but it's likely the former actress will call the Queen "Ma'am" once the formalities are out of the way. The same moniker was favoured by Harry and William's late mother, Diana when she would address her late mother-in-law.
"This can be shortened to Mama, when Meghan gets to know her as Diana did. But never her pet name Lillibet, which is reserved for very close family and friend," royal etiquette expert Ingrid Seward told the Daily Mail.
Judging by their most recent outing, we have a feeling Meghan will be calling the Queen "mama" in no time!
