You won't find heavy contouring or winged liner on the duchess, instead, Meghan explained her day-to-day look with Allure, right before she became a royal.
"My routine is very simple – I call it the five-minute face. It’s just Yves Saint Laurent Touche Éclat, curled lashes, mascara, ChapStick and a little bit of blush".
Meghan's no makeup, fresh look has become so popular, that there are now hundreds of tutorials on YouTube demonstrating how to achieve it.
In addition to Meghan's fresh face, it's her signature freckles that have also caused a huge new trend in the beauty world. We mean, some people are even getting freckles tattooed on her face just to replicate her look.
In an interview with Refinery29, former the Suits actress said, "to this day, my pet peeve is when my skin tone is changed and my freckles are airbrushed out of a photoshoot". Her makeup artist, Lydia F. Sellers also told the publication, "every time I’d do her makeup, she’d say, 'can we just make sure my freckles are peeking through? I don’t want a ton of foundation'".
So how exactly does she perfect her no makeup look? Her trick is to only have one feature shining at a time...
#1. A very sheer foundation
Meghan doesn't like her freckles being covered up too much, so instead of packing on the foundation and concealer, she wears a light coverage foundation.
For example, when she attended the 2009 DPA pre-Emmy Gift Lounge on the 18th of September 2009.
#2. Eyeliner
The most makeup you will ever see Meghan wearing is eyeliner. This above look is anything but over the top, but it's not a look we're used to seeing on her.
This look comes from the 2014 New York Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week on the 8th of February, 2014.
#3. Highlighter, duh!
A highlighter is everyone's best friend, especially when it comes to a more natural look. Meghan's highlighter swiped across her cheekbones is incredibly effective, as can be seen from the 2016 Instagram Dinner on the 21st of May, 2016.
#4. A matte finish
The glowing complexion is something we all strive for, but throughout a long day it can be hard to maintain. Meghan has opted for a matte foundation to stay in its best form all day, and she looks beautiful! Meghan opted for this look at the 2017 Terrance Higgins Trust World AIDS Day charity fair on the 27th of November, 2017.
#5. Nude lipstick
Nothing says 'natural' more than a nude lip! You won't find Meghan in anything other than a nude lip often, and on this occasion, she opted for one that had a peachy-hue to it, which helps to brighten her skin. This look was at the 2018 Invictus Games Reception on the 21st of April, 2018.
#6. Small falsies
Meghan Markle's wedding makeup SHOOK the world, because it was her debut into the 'no makeup, makeup' look. Nobody expected her to go as subtle as she did on a day that was so highly televised, but she did and she NAILED it. With a natural base and nude overtones, Meghan added as small strip of false lashes to make her eyes pop! Meghan executed this look on the special day of her wedding, the 2018 Royal Wedding to Prince Harry on the 19th of May, 2018.
#7. Lip gloss!!!
A personal favourite... but a swipe of lip gloss is incredibly effective to achieve that 'natural' look without going over the top. During her first appearance after becoming a royal, Meghan wore a girly lip gloss during the Trooping the Colour 2018, on the 9th of June, 2018.
#8. Blushin'!!
The oldest trick in the book for any woman to make herself look more appealing in a natural state was to pinch her cheeks to cause a romantic blush. Meghan has enhanced her rosy cheeks with a small bit of blush, accentuating the natural glow from her wedding day. Meghan perfected this look at the Nelson Mandela Centenary Exhibition on the 17th of July, 2018.
#9. Showing off her gorgeous freckles
This is the epitome of natural beauty like we've mentioned before - Meg's LOVES her freckles. And so does the rest of the world. While attending the Sentebale Polo on the 26th of July, 2018, Meghan shows the barest face she ever has to the public. Meghan doesn't appear to be wearing any foundation at all, with a hint of bronzer over her cheekbones, she has PERFECTED the no makeup, makeup.
