"Natasha had sent me a text message saying not to use my toothbrush. She had the room next to me so I went over to her room and she goes 'Hayley you can’t say anything, Mishel has told me and I wanted to tell you because it has something to do with your health and safety'," Hayley told Mamamia.
She explains how she, unfortunately, used the toothbrush for FIVE days following the cruel act by David, and "broke down, screamed and absolutely lost my sh*t".
"That's one of my biggest regrets. I got told not to go to the police, that production would deal with it. I really should have," she told the publication.
Hayley didn't press any charges against her ex-TV husband David, however, she did speak to an officer who said what David did was "physical abuse".
But he didn't just mess with her toothbrush. He went even further than that.
"When he went into there unsupervised, he wrecked my clothes, took some of the food on the bench and filmed the toothbrush incident. It is almost physically abusive. I’ve spoken to the police about this, it’s classified as a form of physical abuse. It can endanger your person and you can get Hepatitis A.
"It was such a high-pressure situation where everyone was feeling very stressed [however], someone going down the path of being physically abusive to someone else is just deplorable."
Yesterday, David spoke about the incident to news.com.au’s podcast Not Here to Make Friends where he admitted it was a "childish" act.
"About three days after the cheating scandal happens, I’ve heard nothing from Hayley and I’m in a really dark place … I still had her room key, and that’s when I did something really childish," David said.
"I knew she liked her equal in her coffee so I flogged that, I knew she liked clothes folded in a certain way, then while I was getting my toiletries out of the room, that’s when the whole toothbrush incident happens. She would go to the toilet without cleaning up after herself. I wasn’t a fan of what she would leave on the toilet bowl, so that’s when I grabbed the toothbrush and scrubbed the toilet with it."
David also believes that Hayley ingesting her own poo wouldn't harm her.
"She used it for five days. It’s her own poo, it’s her own bacteria in her own body so it’s not going to hurt her."
