The 35-year-old arrived at Los Angeles court yesterday after making the decision to enter into a plea deal.
“I am pleading guilty because I am guilty of the charges and wish to take advantages of the promises set forth in this agreement, and not for any other reason," he explained back in October.
Police officials found more than 50,000 “sexually charged” images and videos of child victims aged three to five on Salling's computers and hard drives after being tipped off by his ex-girlfriends who had seen the footage, The Sun reports.
Salling was initially facing up to 20 years in prison, but due to the plea deal his sentence has been shortened to four to seven years.
Court documents obtained by gossip website The Blast reveal that he must register as a sex offender and have no contact with persons under the age of 18 and will be supervised for 20 years once he’s released from jail.
He will be required to stay 100 feet (about 30m) away from schoolyards, parks, public swimming pools, playgrounds and video arcade facilities at all times.
He'll also have to pay $50,000 in restitution to each victim who requested financial compensation.
