What is March 4 Justice?
March 4 Justice is national non-party political movement championing equality with a goal to end gendered violence.
The movement aims to put pressure on politicians and organisations to drive change with regards to sexism, misogyny, corruption and dangerous workplace cultures.
“Together we strive to transform social attitudes so that every person is safe in their homes, their communities and their workplaces; amplify the voices of women in Australia; support safe and fair workplace practices for women; and advocate for systemic change that encourages a society that is built upon equality,” their official website reads.
How can I get involved?
This year, you can March 4 Justice on Sunday, February 27th.
There will be both large and small COVID-safe events Australia wide, with masks and social distancing.
You can also host your own event to encourage your community to get together and demand change. But make sure you register on the website.
For those unable to participate in public events due to COVID or other reasons, you can still get involved from your own home by using the hashtag #MarchForJustice2 on social media.
“This year we turn our attention to our local communities. We demand change and need action from the politicians who are supposed to represent us. In these days of Covid we also want to keep you as safe as possible,” the website reads.
“We will be in numbers too big to ignore around Australia and marching together across social media! From wherever you are you will be able to share your March4Justice through our national livestream broadcast on the day from the website or YouTube. Links and details coming soon.”
For more information, make sure to head to the official march4justice website.
