Everyone's favourite villain/horned fairy aligns with Aurora all so they can protect the enchanted wilderness that surrounds their kingdom.
This ultimate fantasy adventure gives fans an exciting look into Maleficent and Aurora's new dynamic, but of course, there is still a lot of tension between the two.
Maleficent takes matters into her own, somewhat evil hands, while Aurora goes for a more political and peaceful approach.
We also see a re-casting of Prince Phillip this movie, who was previously played by Brenton Thwaites, now replaced by actor Harris Dickinson. Aurora plans on marrying the prince much to Maleficent's dismay, who tries her best to make this marriage not happen, despite it giving the couple a greater stake across the lands, which would unite Ulstead and the neighboring Moors.
Disney’s official synopsis reads that, Maleficent and Aurora “are pulled apart to opposing sides in a Great War, testing their loyalties and causing them to question whether they can truly be family.”
Another wild turn of events shows Maleficent's potential extended family, as several magical creatures of the dark fairy race members show up!
Disney's live-action Maleficent 2 lands in cinemas on October 17.
