It was a pretty epic way to let the world know that they're still together, and their Riverdale cast-mates agree.
Madelaine Petsch, who plays Cheryl Blossom on the show, opened up to Access, saying, "I love them. I don’t even know how they come up with this stuff. I was so in awe of that moment.
"I knew they were shooting a cover of W, I did not know it was gonna go in that direction," Madelaine added. "And then with that caption, I (was) blown away. I loved it. We all got on the group text like, 'Oh my god! That was so cool!'"
Last week, reports came out that the Riverdale couple had split up after two years of dating.
"Their friends didn’t really expect them to last in the long-run," a source told the publication. Apparently, "their personalities are very different and their lifestyles often clashed."
According to People's source, "things have felt super heavy in the relationship for a while, and it got to be too much," which is why they have allegedly broken up.
E! News also reports that the breakup was "very messy," but because they are on the same television show together, things needed to be handled carefully. "They’re both very professional though and trying to be as amicable and friendly as possible," says the source.
The news came out as the pair attended Comic-Con together in San Diego over that weekend.
While there, several interviews emerged showing Lili snapping at Cole on VARIOUS occasions.
It was awkward:
