Lorde is back in a huge way, releasing her new album Melodrama, she visited us down under for some promo.
While here, she was of course asked about her most famous friend, Taylor Swift.
Speaking to Sunrise, she was shown photos of her idols like Beyonce and Taylor Swift and was asked how it felt knowing that these people are now her friends.
She responded, "The second you think too hard about it, you'll just go insane, so it's best to be like, 'We're in Wonderland and that's just what happens around here.'" She then added, "Like, also, I don't hang out with these people at all."
Of course, this kicked off a huge thing in itself.
The host was shocked, reminding Lorde that she was a valued member of Taylor's #squad, in which Lorde responded, "I mean, you make friends in different places, but I think for the most part, you know, I'm not, like, calling up my idols for advice necessarily."
After Lorde made the comments last month that being Taylor's friend was compared to a disease or allergy, it did seem like something has happened between the friends.
BUT - Lorde has cleared all the dramz up.
"Taylor is a dear friend. I love her very much. In the interview in question I had just been talking about Bowie and Pattie Smith - those were the 'idols' i was referring to that I saw saying I'm not friends with, not Taylor!"
To be fair, we think Lorde may just be over having people ask her about her friends when she's just trying to promote her music.
