"2009•2019 Dear Allegra. Some things never change. Except, a lot changed, and then it got very similar, but very different, but better, and now, your finger’s a bit heavier. And not just because of all the pecan pie. What a Thanksgiving. I love your laugh. I love your heart. I love your family. I love you. Looking forward to wifing you," Clayton wrote as his caption, sharing a gallery of gorgeous black and white photos from the proposal.
The star also shared a sweet video where he kisses his fiance on the cheek, showing off the engagement ring in the process.
Allegra posted a similar assortment of photos on her own social media, writing: "2009/2019 I get to grow older with the love of my life, for the rest of my days. 💍 I adore you Clay. Thankful is an understatement. He’s my home ❤️".
2019 has been a pretty wild year for Clayton. On top of his exciting engagement news, his Lizzie co-star Hilary Duff told E! News last month that it was highly likely he'd be returning for the reboot.
She admitted that she was "pretty sure there’s going to be, there’s going to be a thing". She hilariously added that Ethan "is hot ... very hot."
We agree honey.
Clayton would be joining some original cast members such as Hilary, Adam Lamberg (Gordo) and Lizzie's entire family!
Back in 2015, MTV News asked Clayton what he thought happened to Ethan. "He’s mayor. Honestly, he’s gotta get people to like him and get an administration around him to run the show. Ethan loves having his friends and having a good time and I think that would provide him with that and it would be a no-brainer. He can wear his suits and look cool. There was an episode where I was the President of the USA, [so] he certainly has the potential to go very far."
We guess we'll have to wait and see if he was right!
