It’s National Dog Day, so, firstly, if you have a pooch go and give it a big kiss RN… and secondly, if you think your dog has what it takes to become IG famous, pls continue…
Here are some top tips from Instagram:
1. Use Instagram Stories and all of its tools:
Showcase your pooch’s personality and allow them to engage with their Instagram followers by using Instagram stories, and the array of tools at your finger tips:
- Zoom: Hold down on the video circle and swipe up to zoom in and swipe down to zoom out. You can do the same in boomerang mode, so you can try a ‘zoom-erang’ next time your pup is playing in the park.
- Upload photos and videos from your camera roll from the last 24 hours: If you don’t get a chance to get your Instagram story ready for when your pooch is, you can grab it on your normal camera and upload directly so that you never miss an opportunity to connect!
2. Add stickers:
Instagram adds new stickers every week to stories, so keep your eye on the sticker tray to add even more character to each post. By adding a location or hashtag sticker, you’ll be eligible to appear in a location or hashtag story in Explore, enabling you to reach an even wider audience and grow your following.
3. Instagram Live:
Thinking about taking it live? Before you do, make sure you’ve got a good connection. There’s nothing worse than getting your followers hopes up to only lose them halfway through. Don’t overthink the content, if your pooch isn’t doing much at times, don’t panic! Give it time and just go with the flow so you can hit peak viewership.
4. Rewind:
A recently launched feature is Rewind. Want to mix up your usual videos of your dog? Defy laws of gravity by using this tool. Swipe into the camera and click on the rewind icon in the bottom right corner. Film as you usually would and marvel at the result!
5. Instagram Direct:
Got a community of pooch lovers on your Instagram? Keep in contact by sending each other direct messages and next time, try the 50/50 split screen view. When sending a photo or video reply, tap on the thumbnail sticker at the top right to enter 50/50 mode. A thumbnail of the original media appears in the top half of the screen, and you can take a photo or a video to fill in the bottom half.
