Aussie Model Calls Out Heavily Retouched Photo Of Herself

“In this instance I can’t even compare myself to myself. “

Australian “plus size” model La’Tecia Thomas has taken to Instagram to remind her followers that not everything you see online is the “complete truth” after coming across a heavily retouched image of herself.

The 26-year-old shared side-by-side images of the campaign shot compared to her own photos of her real, utterly gorgeous body.

“This is not about putting anyone on blast but more so a reminder to not compare yourself to anyone else,” she captioned the post.

“When I look at the left image I’m like damn can I please look like that and it’s Fk$!n ME!?! If I can’t be that person on the left (which is absurd because it’s me) then I can only imagine the effect this has on women.”

“I think my big arms, my cellulite, my back rolls, the dimples on my butt look fine in the natural shot.”

She says that she can’t always have control over what others do with her images but she will continue to keep it real when it comes to her social media.

“I think both images are beautiful but be realistic with yourself, you don’t need to look a certain way to be appreciated and know that you’re worthy.”

It’s an inspiring reminder that everybody has lumps, bumps, dimples and pimples, and we shouldn’t be comparing ourselves to anything that shows us otherwise.
