It’s official: the days of the traditional 9-to-5 are gone.
With the convergence of internet advancements and social entrepreneurialism, terms like “side hustle” and “girlboss” now sit comfortably in the workforce vernacular.
What that means in plain english is that girls are making their money online, by themselves more than ever before.

But having constant internet access isn’t the only vehicle driving women to reach new #selfmade heights.
According to a recent survey conducted by our research team at Are Media, 87% of women aged under 25 feel that sexist attitudes still exist in business, while 72% of young Aussie women don’t feel that there is enough diversity in their industry. It’s lame as hell.
Despite these age-old challenges we as women have to deal with (yawn), the research also discovered that female entrepreneurs are as resilient as they are ambitious. In fact, 84% of the women surveyed believe their business has potential to be more successful, and 79% are planning to upskill or increase training in order to run their business.
And that’s what we’re all about here at Girlfriend: supporting girls and young women to achieve their ambitions and aspirations!
