So, if you’ve done it before, kissing is like the BEST thing ever. And when it’s done right, it’s better than ice-cream dipped in chocolate, covered in sprinkles and smothered in sweet sugary angels wings! So here’s make it as good as it can be…
Step 1: Give them the go-ahead.
Either one of you can always initiate a kiss, but it’s the subtle signals that are exchanged that say ‘go for it’ that are exciting. Ideally you’ll be sitting on a comfortable surface like a couch or bench or standing somewhere private. Very subtly move your head towards his, merging your personal spaces, hold his gaze, glance down very briefly at his lips and then back to his eyes and smile. CONGRATS! You’ve just given the international signal for “kiss me, you fool!”
Step 2: Stay present.
While you’re kissing you’re prob thinking SO many things. ‘Am I doing this right?’, ‘Are they into what I’m doing?’, ‘OMG! OMG! OMG!’ and so many other feels. But try your best to stay present. Focus on what you’re doing and try to connect with who you’re doing it with. There’s plenty of time for those thoughts later on when you’re on the phone to your BFF giving them the goss!
Step 3: Kissing techniques.
A perfect first kiss should be less raging thunderstorm and more slow sunrise. You want to work-up a little excitement, not just go crazy from the first second. Think soft, short gentle movements and focus your attention on creating a rhythm together. It’s like a kind of dance with your mouth, a silent conversation that only your mouths understand. As you get better at it, the dance gets a lot more exciting!
Step 4: Leave them wanting more.
Every situation is different, but it’s always a good idea to leave them wanting more. If it feels right, let your perfect kiss last anywhere from 5-to-10 seconds. That’s enough time to start feeling pretty heated without them seeing the whole show.
Step 5: The perfect end.
If you feel like you’ve reached a peak, start to slow it down. Stop using your tongue and slowly move your head away from his. Make sure you seal the deal by making sweet eye contact and you’ll probably find you’re both smiling or laughing happily. Both of these things will reassure him that what just happened was really, really awesome. You can even tell him he’s a great kisser or you just enjoyed what happened, which is a really nice way to wrap it up. But hey, don’t forget if it’s not all that and doesn’t blow your mind, that’s OK too! Maybe you both need more practise or it’s just not that hot and exciting. It’s all good!
