2016 has been a hugeeeee year for body positive movements. First was Dove’s #NoLikesNeeded campaign, an awesome initiative that empowered us to realise we’re not defined by how many double taps our Insta pics get. Then came #MermaidThighs, the epic viral craze that hit out society’s unrealistic ideals of beauty. But now, there’s a new initiative to really get behind.
#BellyJelly is the latest (and greatest) hashtag to hit social media.
Basically, the idea is to post a pic or vid that flaunts your stomach in all its natural (and yup, maybes a little unglamorous) glory, celebrating the fact that it’s 100% ok not to have abs that rival Kendall Jenner‘s.
But the best bit? #BellyJelly sticks it big time to the body-shamers and encourages us all to embrace our insecurities like a B.O.S.S.
If you’re still not feeling the crop top lyf though, this might change your mind. Check out body positive organisation, Movemeants, badass vid that’ll defs inspire you to ~finally~ free the belly.
Coz it’s time we say” bye Felicia” to neg self-confidence and own our #BellyJelly once and for all!
