Friends, if you've clicked the article then –like me– you probably spent the last three months of 2018 pumping the marvellous soundtrack from A Star Is Born, please welcome.
WATCH: Andy Samberg mocks Lady Gaga's '100 People in a Room' quote at 2019 Golden Globes
As the headline suggests I am a Lady Gaga/Ally superfan. Now, on Jan. 7, I eagerly waited to see the film which tore my heartstrings apart win four out of the four Golden Globes it was nominated for, but alas I did NOT get to see my girl Ally Gaga, and her man Jackson Maine Cooper do so because they were truly robbed.
Sure, Rami Malek was a CHAMPION as Freddie Mercury in Bohemian Rhapsody and Glenn Close was AMAZING in The Wife, but I'm sorry Lady Gaga deserved Best Performance by an Actress in a Motion Picture — Drama and Bradley Cooper should have been given the gong for the Best Performance by an Actor in a Motion Picture — Drama.
The man grew a FULL beard, directed, sang and PLAYED the main character that I will probably compare my future boyfriends with forever. Lady Gaga poured her heart and soul into that soundtrack, and on multiple occasions discussed how HARD it was for her to let go, dye her hair brown and strip herself of the over-the-top makeup she clings onto for security.
The worst part is, everyone is expecting this blunder to continue come Oscars time.
I know what you're thinking, Lady Gaga may have proved her worth at the Golden Globes when she picked up the Best Original Song. Is That Ok? NO. It's NOT ok. Yes that's a song, and no I do not expect anyone who votes for the Oscars to see this, but if they do I hope they reconsider before throwing Bradley Cooper's genius drama into the sin-bin.
