At only 21-years-old, Kylie is the youngest self-made billionaire, Forbes has just announced. She has officially reached the milestone at a younger age than Mark Zuckerberg.
Since Kylie started Kylie Cosmetics in 2015 (which she owns 100% of), she has created one of the largest beauty empires in the biz.
The first few years saw products exclusively available online, and various pop-up stores. In 2018, Kylie signed a deal with beauty retailer Ulta, moving her products on their shelves.
According to Forbes, this move helped Kylie Cosmetics' revenue increase by nine percent in 2018, making it reach an estimated $360 million.
"I popped up at a few stores, I did my usual social media—I did what I usually do, and it just worked," Kylie tells the publication.
Forbes now estimates that Kylie Cosmetics is worth "at least" $900 million.
Adding in the money she has already made from the company, she's a billionaire!!!
"I didn't expect anything. I did not foresee the future," Kylie told Forbes. "But [the recognition] feels really good. That's a nice pat on the back."
Kylie credits a lot of her success to social media.
"It's the power of social media," she said. "I had such a strong reach before I was able to start anything."
After hearing the news of Kylie, her sister Kendall Jenner took to Twitter to share her excitement.
"HOLY MOLYYYYYYY 🏆🏆🏆" she wrote.
Kim Kardashian also shared some clapping hand and love heart emojis."
Congrats King Kylie.
