Spider-Man: Homecoming was released the same year as Riverdale, which is ironic in itself.
"I auditioned for Spider-Man. I didn’t get it. You know, sometimes I walk out of an audition — you know when you walk out and you feel really good about it, feel like they loved it or whatever? I didn’t feel like that," he told MTV News.
Camila Mendes, who plays Veronica Lodge in Riverdale, revealed that she also auditioned for a superhero movie, however she didn't reveal which character.
Madelaine Petsch (Cheryl Blossom) also chimed in on her superhero audition experience but noted that she may have signed an NDA, so she couldn't reveal much more.
While KJ would have made a fantastic Peter Parker, it means he never would have taken on the role as Archie Andrews, which we just cannot imagine.
And a Spider-Man that isn't Tom Holland? No thank you!
