But when you’re to emulate celebs’ looks on a budget, it’s often financially impossible.
While Kim Kardashian is known for using $300 La Mer moisturiser and carrying $30,000 Birkin bags, the reality TV sensation also turns to affordable (and Australian made!) brands to achieve her trademark waves.
Mermade Hair, created by Perth entrepreneur Tara Simich, is taking the world by storm, one Kardashian at a time.
The $89 hair tool, which creates soft, beachy waves, was first used by Khloe who spruiked the product on her Instagram.
Wave wands are all the rage right now, creating even, bouncy curls you might describe as ‘mermaid-y’. The Mermade Hair Pro Waver is designed with three cylindrical heated wands and a clamp that pushes your hair into the perfect beach waves.
Now, Kim’s long-time hairstylist Chris Appleton has been spotted using the wand on his A-list client.
While Kim enjoyed a lavish holiday in the Abaco Islands with her best friends Natalie Halcro and Olivia Pierson, Chris was photographed styling the mother-of-four’s hair with the Mermade wand as she relaxed on a sun lounger.
Tara told The West Australian that Chris is “a big supporter of the brand” and has worked with them since 2019.
Khloe's sponsored post led to a "record-breaking weekend" in sales, Tara said, adding that the online reaction to the affordable hair tool was "phenomenal".
Supermodel Hailey Bieber has also shown her love for the brand, with her hair stylist Danielle Priano using it on her dark blonde locks in November 2021.
The trademark bubblegum pink Mermade tool is also beloved by Sofia Richie, Iskra Lawrence, Stassie Karanikolaou, Larsa Pippen and Melissa Gorga.
